Built on the authoritative federal record
The primary sources, named on every page.
These are the federal agencies whose public datasets Fonteum ingests and attributes — the issuing authorities, not customers or partners. Every figure on the site links back to one of them.

Reproducible by design
Every figure traces to its federal source.
14-tuple provenance
Every rendered fact ties to a source URL, dataset ID, snapshot date, row key, and SHA-256 — the full chain-of-custody record.
Reproducible SQL
Each study ships the exact query behind its figures, run against the cited federal snapshot. Re-run it yourself.
Daily reconciliation
Published counts are reconciled against the upstream federal datasets on a daily cadence, with drift logged.

Proof · Data Reconciliation
Fonteum reconciles federal hospital data by joining CMS Care Compare (5,426 hospitals, quality and identity) with HCRIS cost reports (0 hospitals, financial data) via exact CCN. 0 hospitals (0% of Care Compare) are joinable. Entity resolution links facilities to their NPI in two tiers: 5,611 deterministic links (confidence 1.000). This page shows 0 deterministic samples with freshness, reconciliation, provenance, and entity-resolution status.
Crosswalk link methods: exact ccn NPI in asc — 5,611 links (confidence 1.000, deterministic)

Freshness
When was each source refreshed? CC snapshot date vs. HCRIS fiscal-year end vs. Fonteum ingest date — side by side per hospital.
Reconciliation
How many fields does each source carry alone vs. joined? "CC alone" = quality and identity. "HCRIS alone" = financials. "Joined" = both, keyed by CCN.
Provenance
Which federal dataset backs each cell? Every row links to the source authority and dataset URL — not an aggregated score.
Entity Links
CCN → NPI crosswalk, tiered. 5,611 links are deterministic (confidence 1.000) from CMS Care Compare ASC. Hospitals without an entry show "Unlinked".
Beyond the CCN→NPI crosswalk above, every identifier resolves to one canonical entity in the entity graph (entity-graph/v1). Counts below are live planner estimates (entity, identifier, and edge totals — marked ≈; the probabilistic-link tally is exact when shown). All current links are deterministic exact-identifier joins at confidence 1.000. Person, organization, and facility entities and payment-relationship edges are populated from the deterministic backfill; the remaining edge classes (operates / owns / member_of_system / ownership) land with later operator-run lanes and read zero until then. Resolve any identifier via GET /api/v1/entity/resolve?scheme=npi&value=….
Live reconciliation data is temporarily unavailable — the HCRIS cost-report source did not respond for this render. The differ table and CCN match rate are omitted rather than shown with placeholder zeros; they return on the next successful refresh. Methodology, sources, and the entity graph above are unaffected.
